Tale of the Body Thief (Anne Rice)

The Tale of the Body Thief - Anne Rice, Richard Grant I thought this was a great book! Ane Rice has an excellent writing style (although, it may take a while to actually READ her books), accompanied by great characters, plot, and imagery. This was one of the more simpler of her books, compared to the first three, but it was still a captivating read, and I wouldn't mind having to read it again sometime soon. However, Rice's books do take quite a while to read, even if you are a faster reading, so you want to make sure to have a lot of time on your hands if you are planning on reading one of her books! :) All in all, wonderful book, and I highly recommend that you read it, along with the first three books in her series, and I will be anticipating her next novel to be just as good! although, I will definitely give myself enough time to read it...

Dragon Moon (Dragon Keeper)

Dragon Moon (Dragon Keeper) - Penny Jordan, Elizabeth Power, Carole Mortimer, Susanne James, Helen Brooks Lee Wilkinson I have to say, the ending was kinda sad, but in a good way.... Overall good, but I think i liked the second one better for some reason. Maybe because the plot in this one moved even faster than the second book did...

Witch & Wizard

Witch & Wizard - James Patterson, Gabrielle Charbonnet The idea is good, but I think James Patterson is losing his edge a bit. The scene changes can be a bit too sudden and there are parts with either too much detail or not enough...

Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side

Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side - Beth Fantaskey This was a really great read! I found this book with all the OTHER vampire books at Borders... (I believe that craze is still going on now...) but it turned out to be a perfectly unique book/plot, and was written very well. However, I do think that the book was a bit fast pace, which caused it to lack a bit of detail, but not enough to make someone lose interest in the story. The main character doesn't really believe too much in herself or who she is "destined" to be, which becomes a bit annoying as you go farther into the book, but she does gain some courage near the latter quarter of the book. The ending was really great!! Probably my favorite part of the whole book! (not because it meant the book had ended, but because it was a well-written, touching moment between the two main characters) Although it kinda leaves you wondering what happens AFTER that specific moment... its still a good ending though. Definitely read it if you're a fan of vampire novels, or fiction in general!

Ruined: A Novel

Ruined - Paula Morris oh my gosh, the ending made me want to scream!!! Because of the way they made the events so nonchalantly put, just "oh yeah, whatever, that just happened" WHAT THE HECK?!?! But, good idea, good story plot, a little under-detailed, but overall great. :D

Fahrenheit 451: A Novel

Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury Despite having to read it for English class, I thought it was a fairly good book. Interesting to read, and leaves you questioning just a bit.

The Black Tattoo

The Black Tattoo - Sam Enthoven Awesome book! Second time reading it, and I still enjoyed it. Although it may start out kind of slow, it gets so much better once after they have the incident with Jessica. The characters were interesting, although I didn't really like Charlie very much. Jack's character got better once he was faced with all the danger, and his ending character was great. I loved the Chinj!!!! I think that is probably my favorite character, even if it's a minor one. The scenery detail could've been improved more, but it was enough to get a good visual of what everything looked like and what should be going on. All in all, a pretty great book!

The Queen of the Damned (The Vampire Chronicles, No. 3)

The Queen of the Damned (The Vampire Chronicles, No. 3) - Anne Rice Anne Rice has done it again with another stunning work of literature! Lestat has gotten himself into more trouble since his previous adventures in Anne Rice's third novel in the Vampire Chronicles series, The Vampire Lestat. Now his actions, as well as the recently awakened Akasha, will impact the entire world of the undead, shaking the very foundations which everthing is based upon. The imagery in the novel was beautiful, and although it was a bit hard getting really into the book and interested at first (due to the different/conflicting/confusing points of view) it was well worth the read. I love the intricate details Rice puts on just the basic scenery surrounding the characters, and the style with which she presented he characters thoughts was simply enchanting and nothing like I have ever read before. I can't wait to continue reading the next book in the Vampire Chronicles series, The Tale of the Body Thief!!

Sucks to Be Me: The All-True Confessions of Mina Hamilton, Teen Vampire (maybe)

Sucks to Be Me: The All-True Confessions of Mina Hamilton, Teen Vampire (maybe) - Kimberly Pauley This was a really cute book! The story was orginal too! Unlike a lot of the vampire stuff taht is being produced lately, because of the darn Twilight craze..... The characters were good, not too over the top or dramatic, and they fit the specific character persona fairly well too. The plot was good, although I wished she had said what color Mina's eyes turned at the end.... :) just curious. I suggest that you read it! It's pretty good, and you can pick it up anytime! Quick, and easy read.

Crashed (Skinned, Book 2)

Crashed - Robin Wasserman The action in this book was definitely better than in her lat book. It starts off when Lia is beinning her new life with her kind - the mechs. But, she didn't realize what she was getting into. Everything becomes more and more complicated throughout the book, with several twists and suprise endings. I love the pairing in this one though!!! Jude is someone i definitely didn't like, which is why im so glad she has been staying away from him. t, the ending was pretty good, although i didn't really expect that last scene to go down as it did AT ALL! So kudos for the good job there. The plot mad sense, more ofr less, throughout the whole book. The one thing i didn't like though, was the time lapse that happened when she was having her little.... escapes. Overall, awesome read, and definitely better than the first one!

Garden of the Purple Dragon

Garden of the Purple Dragon - Penny Jordan, Elizabeth Power, Carole Mortimer, Susanne James, Helen Brooks Lee Wilkinson I like the story plot a lot, but i thought it moved bit fast and didn't quite elaborate enough at certain parts. overall ,pretty good.

The Jungle (Dover Thrift Editions)

The Jungle - Upton Sinclair So this book was given to me as a reading assignment for my history class, but I think it was an overall okay book. The book, based in the 1900's, is about thehorrors of the Meat-packing industry and the effect socialism had on political life. Although a bit hard to understand at some points, the book had lots of great description, if not slightly disturbing, when looking at the conditions of the factories and the deplorable way the poor lived. The characters were very realistically written, meaning to represent how many immigrants and there families did survive during that time, and what they had to go through. The book got really depressing at some parts because of the tragic events that this family went through, as well as the resources they had to live off of. Even though it was a required reading book, I have to say that it was probably one of the better books I have read for school.

Leaving Paradise

Leaving Paradise - Simone Elkeles This was an excellent book!! The pace was a bit fast, but the plot and unexpected twists were great. The book is written in with that raw sense of feeling that keeps you intrested and on edge, as well as showing realism to the whoe situation, making a book that can be realistically connected with or put into real life. Although the ending had me sad that their relationship ended that way, I'm sure I won't be dissapointed when I read the sequel "Return to Paradise". This book is an easy read (with some mild language) that I enjoyed reading very much, and highly recommend it to any teen or young adult reader who needs to fill some empty time, or just wants to pick up a good book. I read this book in about 2-3 hours; it was so good I just couldn't put it down! It was well worth the time to read. :D

Skinned (Skinned Trilogy)

Skinned - Robin Wasserman This was an interesting book. It reminded my of Scott Westerfield's dystopian societies, in his Uglies series. The characters were original, as was the little world they lived in, the future America (scary to think that the world might actually end up like that!). I thought that the whole plot line seemed really short and was only extending on a couple of main evernts throughout the entire book, but it was an okay read and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes these kinds of dystopian-society books. Enjoy!

Beastly Movie Tie-in Edition

Beastly - Alex Flinn This book was AMAZING!! It's a great twist on the classic fairy-tale version, and it has great plot and action. A must read if you love fairy tales!

The Restaurant at the End of the Universe By Douglas Adams

The Restaurant at the End of the Universe By Douglas Adams - Caleb Melby (Author) I'd say this was a good book, maybe not my style, but a definite continuation of the lively, funny plot and characters thaht made the series a good read in the first place. I do recommend it to anyone who likes to read a comedic genre of books and also likes science fiction fantasy!
